Almost overheated
Exact part I thought it was. Will a higher temp cause that part too fail? Highest since owning was around 228 (guessing). It was a tic below needle pegged too hot. I heard the three chimes then I turned off the AC.

Took it out yesterday for some food. It was 30 round trip. On the way there I was at 198 until one block away, it shot up to 210. On the way home it was 216-220. It was 98 degrees outside and almost no humidity. I put a new OEM rad cap on this past Saturday. Is this a temp I should get used to during the summer? Seems on the higher side to me. One thing to add, the temp did not drop but a degree at 65+ speeds. Stayed around 215-218. Creeped up at the first stoplight. Should Look into a pusher fan?

Your temps are still up and down. Do you own an infrared thermometer? Check inlet and outlet temps on the rad!
