Adding a Subwoofer

I have a 2007 h3x with the monsoon audio system (8 inch stock sub). I currently have a 12 inch kicker in a ported box waiting to be installed and all I need is the amp and the wiring kit. I’m taking it to a shop for install once I get everything, If I add this 12 inch subwoofer setup, can I keep the monsoon subwoofer active or will I have to disconnect it?As in can I use the new 12 inch subwoofer for the very low bass, then tune the stock monsoon 8 inch for midish bass, then door speakers and tweeters for the highs? Also, will this Affect the sound quality from the original speakers or any other electronic components?
