Default ACDelco Oil Filters are Horrible….

Hand tightening these filters for my Rig and I went through 3 in a week. Debris in 1st, 2nd poorly assembled and had to get a 3rd to replace it. Then the seal was poorly afixxed that I brought a K&N and added oil to proper levels from lost through ACDelco products. Anyone else have these issues with these filters?

Odd, I've personally used acdelco oil filters multiple times. Lol, I've also used darn near each budget brand available.
although I had trouble with an order on Amazon with a dirt and debris in acdelco just once. For All the whining about fram I've so far been happy with using them in a pinch.

I’ve never actually used AC delco filters, but I do find your post hilarious, because I was just at the Auto Parts store two days ago buying oil and a filter for my rig. As luck would have it, the parts store did not have any full synthetic filter brands available in the H3 size, as they were sold out of basically everything. In fact, the only size they had in stock that actually fit was AC Delco. So I bought one.

On the way home, I compared its filtering efficiency rating to several full synthetic oil filters (98% for 25-30 microns, as opposed to 99% for >20 microns, for something like the Fram Ultra Synthetic), so I decided that I would only use the AC Delco this once for about 3000 miles.

Then I saw your post, and made the executive decision to trash the AC Delco, but at this point I didn’t have adequate time to turn around and go to a different place and get another oil filter (this was on my lunch break from work). So I asked my wife (who was making a Wal Mart run later that evening) to pick me up a Fram Ultra Synthetic from Wal Mart. “Hey hun, I know I just bought an oil filter, but could you pick me up another one?”

Yes, I went there. Fortunately, she agreed.

Lol! I have seen some posts where they are sworn by, however my experience just made my choice and future choices real simple!

I use ACDelco Oil Filters on other vehicles, and did use one or more on the 07 H3. Since my 09 Alpha, been using K&N Oil Filters as I scored a deal on a closeout and bought 8, still have 5 left. Been using Mobil 1 Filters on my Chevy.

I had a Fram that refused to properly seal on the wife's old ride. When I finally decided to replace it after calling it choice insults from dripping on the garage floor, the rubber ring seal was torn. Never used a Fram since.

@Doc Olds Yeah I see its a toss up until you found one that reliably works with your vehicle. I will stay with K&N for now. Heres an enigma for view…. Where to get that PSP Reservoir O-Ring. The Orange one? I will post this quest in another thread. Or start it.
