Default AC OFF Appeared ( thermostat and sensor)

Greetings

thanks all for your support

suddenly during a remote off-road trip the subject alarm appeared. I returned to nearest city I barely found the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and replaced it.
i flushed the old coolant fluid and added new one.
currently the temperature gauge doesn’t exceed 1/4 while driving. When I shutdown the engine then turn the key on before starting the car it’s near 1/2 the gauge.

My questions as follows

does the thermostat linked with the ECT sensor ? Since both happened suddenly in the same time.

can I operate my H3 with 1/4 temp gauge ?
Is there any way that i can fix the thermostat or reset it since it's in open stuck position ?(I guess )

i tried to secure the thermostat but it’s not available i have to order it and it will take time and i need to travel back to my city around 800 miles

I get this “AC off” every time I drive when it’s less than 20 degrees out. When outside warms up in day code eventually just goes off. My temp gauge always is less than 1/2 gauge when normal warmer driving.

This happens every winter.,,🤷🏻‍♂️ Why??

i had similar issue, I changed the sensor it was working fine, but since the thermostat it’s stuck open the engine can’t get enough heat so it triggers AC OFF.
it is 32 degrees here.

Thermostat on my 07 was separate from ect sensor. I've replaced Thermostat and it is in a very undesirable location to say the least. Lol...
