check connector/wires to the ECT
HUMMER DTC P0118
Make:HUMMERCode:P0118Definition:ECT Sensor Circuit High InputDescription:Engine started, engine runtime over 10 seconds, or engine runtime under 10 seconds with the IAT sensor more than 32ºF, and the PCM detected the ECT sensor was over 4.90v (Scan Tool reads less than -36ºF) for 20 seconds during the CCM continuous test.Cause:- ECT sensor connector is damaged, loose or open
- ECT sensor signal circuit is open between the sensor and PCM
- ECT sensor signal circuit is shorted to VREF
- ECT sensor is damaged or has failed (it may be open)
