car is currently located in Middlebury, VT. I'm finding places online like ship reman trans https://reman-transmission.com/trans...2007/automatic
online reman trans are about $3k minus core charge refunds of $300 - $700. seems like any of these online reman places would be ok, but I'd feel better if someone could actually recommend one.
Rebuilding my existing trans is really not going to happen.

Pull the transmission yourself. Buy stock or upgraded parts, have yours rebuilt. Re-install. GTG.
