Default 2007 h3 seat heater

I have a 2007 h3. Every time I start the car, the heater on the driver seat comes on. I turn it off then after I tun ignition off then restart, it comes back on. At first I thought I might be hitting the button while getting back in but I noticed when picking my son up from work, I never got out but when I stared the engine, it came back on. I removed the fuse for now, summertime in Texas was a little warm for seat heater, but now I need to put the fuse back in and I may not need it everyday. Any thoughts on how to fix it?

There's a good chance what's happening is when you sit in the seat you're causing the side trim panel to flex and activate the switch. This has happened to people before and their solution was to add a screw to hold it in place. Another solution was to take a Dremel and trim off some of the plastic on the panel just above the switch to add clearance.

X2 on the Dremel AND screw. My fatazz could set the seats on heat just going around a corner before performing both mods.

Yep, your seat trim panel is broken (from sliding in/out over the top of it) and now it moves when you get in/out and turns on the heater switch.

I did a brand new panel both sides and the extra screw. All good ever since. I also climb in and out, no sliding over the seat edge.

Just did both seats today. Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!
Just need to repaint them.
