Default 2007 H3 key fob programming

I bought new key fobs off of fleabay.

Do they have to be programmed by a locksmith/dealer or can I do them myself?

It is possible through the handles of the light. But I didn't manage to do that. Drove to friends who repairs Opel (also GM). In five minutes, both key fobs were registered by the programmer. All keychains are registered immediately.

The correct answer is you need a capable scanner to program H3 key fobs. Do a search here, it has been covered including describing a scanner you can purchase (short of a full GM Tech2). See an example in my link below.

As Doc said a high end OBDII scanner, GM Tech2, etc. is required to program an H3/H3T key fob.

Call around to some local locksmiths. I have 2 close to me that have the proper equipment to program the fobs. Much cheaper than the dealer.
