2007 H3 Climate Control issues
Hello all,
I work at a small local auto repair shop in Indiana. We have a 2007 H3 in here that is giving us fits.
It presented with no heat on ANY defrost vent(with control set on defrost), No heat on outboard vents and heat @ center vents of around 115deg with roughly 30deg diff between outboard and center vents. We haven't tried floor vents yet. First thing we checked was the Actuators, found the lower forward actuator unresponsive so we replaced it and all 3 are now functioning. Still presents with same symptoms. Tried a control head, No change. Early suspicions was thinking possibly obstructed heater core but it heats up right along with the engine and we have no shortage of airflow so no longer suspect this a possibility. Please advise, we'd like to get this finished and shipped.

Sounds like other issues are going on, but you might want to try a calibration. Search the forums to confirm, but this is what I found quickly. I performed this once, and it fixed my issues, but I can't remember for sure if this is the procedure I used:
Try to recalibrate the hvac system
•Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
•Turn the Temperature dial all the way to the right.
•Turn the blower control dial all the way to the right.
•Turn the mode position dial all the way to the left.
•Simultaneously press and hold the A/C and Defrost buttons until the LEDs start to flash
•Once the LEDs stop flashing, calibration is complete.
•Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
•Turn the Temperature dial all the way to the right.
•Turn the blower control dial all the way to the right.
•Turn the mode position dial all the way to the left.

I pulled the rear actuator and found there was no door attached to it.... currently in the process of pulling the dash.
I am assuming there is supposed to be a door there, why else would they put an actuator there and no door?
Does anybody have a DECENT picture of this air box so I have an idea what I'm looking for? The pictures in alldata SUCK!

The rear actuator I am referring to is the drivers side lower rear was working but upon removal discovered there is no door or shaft for the actuator shaft to fit into on the box, the forward 1 is the 1 I replaced as it had no response. The upper for vent selection was working fine. I have not located the actuator on the passengers end of the box yet but I am assuming that is the recirculation actuator and based on the function test before I started to pull the dash, it seemed to be working.
