Default 2006 H3 I-phone integration?

Recently found a 2006 Hummer H3 Lux with Monsoon and adventure package. Last time I owned an H3 was in 2006 and there is a bit of rust on what I can remember about hands free calling,

I am looking at the Pioneer DMH-W3050NEX unit with of course the harness that keeps the onstar chugging along with replacing one of the 12V outlets with USB cables.

The unit that I am looking at uses Siri Eyes and enables all of the functionality that I need as if it were a modern car.

So for the life of me I cannot remember how or what button to hit the give the "Hey Siri" prompt or how to answer the phone. Are the controls on the head unit themselves or does the Hummer H3 have buttons on the dash, mirror or steering wheel that has "push to talk functions". It's been a wile

You will use the head unit exclusively for any phone communications.

FYI, remove the Onstar fuse under the hood and the box inside the dash (more space for your head unit wiring as they are inoperable now.

GM subsidiary OnStar has recently announced that older GM vehicles will no longer be compatible with OnStar and Connected Services.

Effective through November and December, 2014 model-year and older GM vehicles, as well as select 2015 model-year vehicles, will lose access to OnStar. This affects current GM brands (Chevy, GMC, Buick, Cadillac), in addition to vehicles sold by discontinued brands (Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Saab, Hummer).
The reason for this suspension has to do with the service’s cellular network. These vehicles use Verizon’s 2G network, which will sunset in December 2022, as network providers focus on expanded coverage of and access to 4G and 5G networks.

they sell portable android audio tablets that mount anywhere that run off of your existing FM radio so you dont have to hardwire anything. you tune into a blank station. and can mount the tablet anywhere. they come in diferrent sizes and different options.
