Any of those are going to be a step up from factory. Kenwood and JVC are basically the same with different face plates (they are the same company now) but the top end Kenwood Excelon models do have some higher end electronics for even better sounds quality with highly configurable EQ and environmental settings. Personally I'm partial to the Kenwood Excelon (I have a DNX693 in mine which has Garmin nav, and all the rest) and the one I have works great with bluetooth for phone calls. I even re-purposed the factory Onstar microphone so there is no aftermarket mic hanging out anywhere (the older analog Onstar units are no longer usable anyways). Pioneer is also top notch as well and probably the next most popular aftermarket brand and I know many are perfectly happy with their Pioneer.
You will also need and installation kit which will have the physical mounting bits, steering wheel controls interface kit (if you want to be able to still use the factory steering wheel controls), electrical interface kit (retains vehicle chimes and allows the aftermarket unit to work with the factory amp and other functions), and wiring harness adapter.
