Previous owner didn't follow the instructions:
To assure the long life and continued performance of your remanufactured component, please follow the initial lubricant and fluid changes outlined below and the guide lines of the equipment manufacturer for lubricant and filter changes thereafter.
Gasoline Engines:
Change engine oil and filter at 500 miles and then at a suggested interval of every 3,000-4,000 miles or 3-4 months whichever occurs first.
Pull it and send it back to Jasper to verify the source of failure.

Btw, how much did you pay for that H3?

You are correct but even their best warranty is 3 years so its 3 years over the warranty period.
I gave 2k cash for it so I'll wind up with close to 5 in it when this is over, I cant sell it knowing it has a dead hole

looks like used engines with about the same amount of miles your truck has in your state's salvage yards cost about 3k but there are 3 lkq pick a parts in Tennessee (Chattanooga, Memphis and Nashville) some have Colorado's you can get an engine for 250$ + 75 core charge but you have to pull it yourself if they are still in the truck

Did you contact Jasper? I'll buy it with a dead hole, give me a price delivered, only around a 550mile drive up 75/71, to 44130.

I did contact Jasper, yes pick a part has some but you have no idea what real condition is, if I take time to do motor swap, I would like to have warranty, I may possibly yank the head and repair the 1 cylinder, I haven't decided at this point.

Jasper has always been good to me regardless of the time, simply communicating documented mileage, is the key!
JASPER® has been remanufacturing quality products since 1942 and today we are the nation's largest remanufacturer of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, rear axle assemblies, air & fuel components, marine engines, sterndrives, performance engines, and electric motors.
