GM has been advising the use of DEXOS oil=FULL SYNTHETIC, for many years(before that 6094m oil=synthetic base).

Since '11 the use of Dexos1 (engine) (dex VI transmission=full synthetic) only, is required for coverage under the power train warranty.

GM is on to something, engines and transmissions last longer with the use of synthetic oils!

Full Synthetic oil is the only oil I use, (engine, transmission, transfer case, and differentials)

If I were you, I would perform an engine flush, refill with full synthetic oil (mobil 1 dexos approved) and perform an induction cleaning. GL
