Default Oxygen Sensor Unplugged

I recently bought a 2006 Hummer H2 SUT.
The check engine light was showing oxygen sensor 2/ bank 2. I took it to my mechanic and he said it was unplugged. He fixed it and the light went off. 1 hour after driving it from the mechanic's the light came back on and was diagnosed as a random misfire. Could unplugging an Oxygen sensor bypass any other codes on the vehicle?

The answer is NO.

I have the same issue and would like to know the outcome of your H2 and the catalyst converter Bank 2.

there are sequential steps the the ECU takes to trigger a code. so if there is an error it will show the most severe one until it gets corrected then continues to the next code. so very common that another code will develop if there was more than one issue going on at the time. in the case of the misfire the ECU could not determine the misfire as it needed the O2 sensor to determine the misfire.
