I have noticed an interesting problem, my factory BOSE amp seems to just shut of from time to time. If I shut the vehicle off and restart it bingo sound is back. Can't get to happen by changing any setting on the radio.

The amp tests fine with the Tech2. So here's the question, Does the BOSE amp get turned on by the BCM or does it sense input from the radio and turn on, or something else?

 

if you have a radio interface module they can do that some brands more then others. read the reviews .

 

Actually I am trying to figure out how the BOSE amp turns on with a stock setup, not aftermarket.

 

The amp/speaker receives a signal from the radio+needs 12v power/ground to relay the signal, all other speakers work without 12v power. Poor connections to the amp cause overheating protective mode shutdown to prevent failure.

 

Thx HummerZ, I need to see if I can find a schematic that shows what that lead is and find out if I have a bad connection or amp going bad.
