Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
I appreciate the reply. I am planning on putting 37's on my 09 H2. I had a 05 H2, in which the previous owner already installed a lift kit on her with 38 x 113.50 R22 tires. I wasn't sure if the previous owner re-geared the H2 or not, but she didn't struggle at all going up steep hills and overpasses.
Okay, got it. Your question was more about gearing, drivability, etc. I've done no regearing and she drives perfect, everywhere.
Didn't re-gear putting the 37" on the 2008 with 6 speed. It feels slightly slower, but really that's only if you're looking for it. I do want to get a tune added to adjust for the different tire size, which should adjust transmission shift points and correct the speedometer. But if you didn't do any of that, it's just fine.
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback. I just don't want to go too big of a tire to the point where I adversely affect the transmission. I made a similar mistake when I lifted a FJ Cruiser over a decade ago. I put 35's on her, which caused the tranny to steady hunt for gears, even on flat road surfaces.
