Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

What the heck is it? Fuel related? Or something else?

2003 H2. So started crawling around underneath yesterday (pulling skid plate to paint, then found some drips) and thought I'd check to see if I could find the purported external fuel filter to see what it looked like. I found the charcoal canister and purge valve, kept going forward and found the pictured item attached to the frame under drivers floor area. It looks like the back end of a motor but can't see the front end - just a couple wires on a block. Anyone know what I'm looking at here? It's my understanding the fuel pump is in the tank, but perhaps I'm wrong.

Ahhhh, ok. Thanks! Any idea where the so-called external fuel filter is or what it looks like? Was my understanding they were external on the 03's, and I didn't see one, but I may have just missed it. Or perhaps some 03's are internal?

Gavin - in my defense - I already had a bunch of undercarriage crud in my eye from my explorations & cleaning under the engine area!! At least that's my excuse of the day! LOL
