Default WATER LEAK VIDEO 2009 HUMMER H2 Found That Sucker.

Just picked up the H2 From M&M Repair. They dropped the headliner in front of the Windshield. Water was coming in as it ran over the top of the windshield and down to the hood. It was right at the windshield Gack seal. It says on the final receipt " Install 3M Windshield Drip Check and found windshield was leaking". Don't know what that is ??? But they found the leak.

The video was shot on a slight angle. The view is showing part of the driver side windshield at the top near the "A" pillar. you can see the water running over the front of the windshield and down towards the hood. Also of course the leak inside dripping.

He also explained to me a method he uses and suggests I do it every 3 months. During the spring when the pollen is heavy and even when there is no pollen, there is gack floating in the air as well as stuff you pick up while driving. He did this to my 2.....Get a gallon or 2 gallon bucket. Fill it with regular HOT tap water.
Climb up on your driver or passenger side (Approximately Middle of the roof and ....Shoot the hot water towards the center of the sun roof. It will pass over the sunroof front seal..(Which is really not a seal) and work it's way down thru the drain channel and into the drain hose as well as some of the hot water will enter the roof bar trench's and thru it's draining system.

Why you ask.... Well that Pollen or what ever mixes with rain water and becomes like a Paste and eventually will clog up your drainage systems causing overflow or leaks as it backs up. The hot water will dilute this stuff and flush it out.
So that's all I got. This Mechanic is a Master Hummer Mechanic who use to train the dealer mechanics. So I trust him.
Now all I need to find is someone to clean the headliner and or find out what to use. Any ideas on cleaning materials? let me know.Or your method of doing the job.

I missed the 2 and glad Fatboy is back.

That is great, glad you got it fixed. Do you have a detail shop near you? I bet they would know the best way to clean it.

Yep... They resealed rather than replace the windshield. They used a GM Dealer sealant . Once they resealed the leak it moved to another spot down the line. They got that one to. The sealant dries out and develops Micro cracks as shown in VAX's Video.

M&M suggested a Upholstery shop. ??? You can't steam clean it as the heat will break down the glue on the fabric. It has to be done my hand or some how dry clean it.

Maybe I'll take the headliner down to my local Chinese Dry Cleaner ...LMAO.

Thanks for the video. I had this problem in my 05 SUT many years ago. It leaked in that same area and on the end pillars as well. The culprit was the worn-out rubber gaskets surrounding the top front roof lights. After replacing all of the top roof lights, the problem went away. Once again, thanks for sharing.
