you need to scan for codes for you to know your issue.

well what year is it? 2003-7 has one style and 08-09 has another type of brake system.

That sounds like the hydroboost is acting up to me.

Had the same problem with my 06, found a bad O Ring in the hydroboost and put a rebuild kit in it. This fixed the problem but it started leaking about a year later.

Ended up replacing the hydroboost unit with a brand new one and never had another problem. Considering how important brakes are I should have just gone for the new one right from the start.

I did the exact same on mine.... tried a DIY rebuild which worked for about 6 months. Then bought a brand new OEM one. Buy once, cry once - you get what you pay for lol. I've also ready many times of store bought rebuilt ones not lasting very long either.

I once had an opportunity to speak with a Cardone rebuild technician, He told me off the record 2 parts you don't want a rebuild on is a steering gear and the other is a hydroboost. Neither of which the rebuild companies want to spend the money to actually rebuild properly, in the case of the hydroboost they won't and don't machine the bore and use oversided pistons. And they don't replace the metal parts that actually wear out in steering gears. They only have to last the length of the rebuild warranty which is such a small window anyway.

Like you said, buy once, cry once. (and you won't waste your time or effort having to deal with it again!)
