Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Tranny linkage

well pulling out of the driveway today and shift lever is not working. get under truck and cable is off of shifter lever
aside from bushing not being there or under truck, it looks like the end of the pawl or shaft that the cable snaps into is rusted off.

question is found these dorman parts that should fix problem but dont come up for H2
Appears dorman does not specifically make these parts for the H2 but they fit an 07 1500 silverado so they should fit the hummer correct? dorman 14104 shift bushing kit and 74124 shift cable lever. going to buy them tomorrow morning. hopefully
someone confirms that mechanically these shouls be identical to 07 silverado

thanks

thanks for the replys but no one answered the question if the parts are the same as the 1500 truck so the dorman parts will
fit or not. want to get truck back on the road today, dont want to wait days for oem parts to come from ebay, may stop by a tranny shop
to ask the question

thanks

Go up on RockAuto and compare the part numbers of the 2 vehicles for that specific part. It doesn't always work but, if they are the same then Bingo! I do that all the time when I am searching for a part no longer available for the H2.
Most of the the time a same year 2500HD GM truck will be the same for mechanical parts.

the 2 correct dorman part numbers are 14055 bushing kit 74124 shifter lever most wont ever need the shift lever.
mine was rusted these part numbers are for 07 1500 seilverado and work perfect as far as i can see they do not offer
these parts anymore specific to the H2

Personally, I would modify the OEM lever to hold the cable secure! My 1998 blazer shift cable separated, after backing out of my driveway,15yrs ago(used tie straps to get back in the driveway, then I secured with bolt/nut/washers/sleeve). Still worked perfect when I sold it 4yrs later, with under 50k miles! My '07 H3 lever, bushing, & cable is still oem/factory installed, yet if it ever separates, I will do the same! This vid shows the concept:
