Default Tire replacement

Group, I need to replace tires on my 07 H2 SUT. The torsion key(s) were adjusted to raise the front end to have a more level stance. As we all know the stock tire height is 35s. I would like to bump up to 37s but not certain if I will encounter rubbing in the front end. I have read that some say yes and some say no. Can someone who has 37s with adjusting the keys tell me for sure. thx - joe

Some say yes and some say no because each H2 seems to be different. With cranked keys I would think 37s would fit fine. My stock 35s rubbed on the sway bar until I went through my front and and readjusted everything. I also would not go with larger tires without upgrading the tie rods.

Thx for responding. My 35s do not come close to rubbing. Maybe I should just stay with 35s.

I have 37x13.5 on mine with cranked (reindexed) torsion keys. When backing up at an angle it rubs the tiniest but but not enough that anything would ever be damaged - zero in the rear. If I had 37x12.5 instead of the 13.5 wide they probably would not rub at all. On mine anyways. As LoJac mentioned, it seems to be hit and miss. Some people report rubbing while others do not. Will also depend on your wheels as well. Mine are aftermarket - not sure of the offset and backspacing off the top of my head though.

Ok... I am running with the stock wheels and would do 12.5 rather than the 13.5.

Narrower tires better in snow and on ice because they get better linear traction by penetrating the snow.

I'm running a true 37" x 12.5" tire with the 08 OEM 20" wheels and do have a slight rub on the frame at full lock turn. I do have a leveling kit (keys) on my truck and have the front raised as high as it will go without causing issues with suspension travel. I do plan to install Cognito upper A-arms which will allow me to raise the front more once I get the engine back in.

The wheels will have a large impact on where the tires are in the wheel well,

Neal
