Rustoleum bed liner spray on H2 bumper
Just wanted to post a review to say I am extremely happy with this product! It didn’t add a new texture to the existing plastic. It settled right over it and now my bumper looks brand new!
So of course my 05 plastic bumper was starting to look a little faded. I debated on trying a heat gun but I read that it is ultimately bad for the plastic. I did end up using it on one of the rear corner caps that was cracked. I melted it down a little and smoothed it out. Came out pretty good... looks better than it did and it did bring the plastic back to black. But I didn’t want to take a chance on ruining the entire bumper. I also didn’t want to bother with wipe on products that would need reapplication, so rattle can spray on bed liner it was!
I removed the bumper, cleaned it with soap and water, and sprayed it on! I had a couple spots that sprayed on a little gloppy when the nozzle got gummed up but they weren’t noticeable by the time I was done. I used 1 whole can for the front bumper and center grill insert. Sprayed 3 coats.
If anyone else is considering this to clean up their bumper I highly recommend it! Pretty simple job, took about 2.5 hours total. The bumper removal/reassembly took about 30 minutes each time. The rest was just drying time between coats.
