Rear hatch wont lock
The other day for some reason it another I checked to see if my hatch gate was locked while the truck was locked sure enough it wasn't I hear the actuator clicking and all the other doors lock but not the hatch fuses are good what can it be I'm stumped
So this could be one of three things - fortunately you likely can determine which one and the fix shouldn't be expensive. If you're comfortable taking apart your liftgate (there are YouTube videos - remove the loop handle with a 7mm bolt and then carefully pop all of the clips to take off the trim), you'll expose the actuator and cables. On the actuator, there is a black slide at the end that can pop out of place. If that has happened, then the actuator will fire but not throw the lock. It could be as simple as flipping that into place. You also could have a cable that has come loose (there are 3), and worse case is replace the actuator which is $20 or less - Part # 25001736.
You where right because sometimes it looks led sometimes it didn't so I took it apart sure enough loose cable on actuator fixed it but this led me to devise a way to lock my spare tire rack I and that job came out great so that lead to that and sure thing everything is great thanks for the help
Hello, Mr. Joe:
Sir, I too have your same problem. And I read your original post and your below update, that you were able to fix your H2 hatch that wasn't locking. My 2008, H2 hatch is also not locking so I was wondering, Sir...and since the troubleshooting seems a tad technical to me, by chance, will you please explain what I too should do in order to get my hatch to lock? Just looking for a a but more detailed, step by step, resolution that I may follow to be able to lock my hatch?
Thank you for any information that you can provide, Mr. Joe...much appreciated, Sir!
