So.....

Went out with some friends and passenger rear window was rolled down (nothing unusual) and it would not go back up. I pulled the door apart and it seems the top perch of the cable pulley system broke off!! I cannot even get the window to close all of the way when pushing up on it.

Do you need to buy a whole window regulator kit to get this thing working again?

How hard is this installation?

Yes you need a new reguator. They are not hard to install.

It's pretty straight forward. The only tool you should need is a door panel trim remover to pop the panel off. You might want to go to your local GM dealer and pick up a couple of extra door panel clips. Sometimes they break upon removal.

 

2008 H2 rear window regulator. If you need one it is an easy job. Takes about one hour. No special tools needed. Bought mine here on Amazon.com.
