Default After replacement of Battery HVAC temp problem

After Replacement of battery HVAC temp problem. Temp will go from cold to hot with just one click. of temp control. I preformed the Calibration procedure for the air temperature actuator still have problem. Does anyone know if the air temp actuator(H3 2006 has two, a right one and a left one) needs to be replaced after a battery replacement. Does anyone know any thing more I should be looking at that would correct the problem. Thank you.

Search Temperature Control or Resistor, common problem. Also updated/posted about 1 page down.

There is a resistor that you can solder on one of the wires on the back of the temp **** that may fix the issue for you if the blend actuators are still good. I had the same issue happen to me, I pulled all the fuses looking to see which might be blown and that reset something so that the actuator opened a little bit more for each click. Silly me then did the calibration procedure and things went back to 1 click cold/hot. I haven't futzed with it yet this weekend to fix it.

if nothing really was changed but the batt and the control worked right b4 it seems like it should be resettable to where it was?.

no parts changed huh?, sounds like calib.

didn't someone say he had a motor/gear get out of position in a case like this, my memory??

Nope... I just went through this as well.... Exactly what happened to you..... I don't know what happened to the power head when battery replaced, but I did the wiring/ resistor repair and I'll be damned it fixed it.

Somehow it loses correct reference voltage( too high?) and the resistor lowered it?

A big thank you to the person who came up with the inline 68 ohm resistor fix to correct the temp control problem. Yes it fixed the problem. Cost to fix this was $1.65.

I'd still like to know what is happening to cause this when replacing the battery.... Seems like most people who have this happen is when they replaced their battery......

I wondered about that too. Like the radiator, these things seem to happen all about the same time to everyone. The 68 ohm resistor fixed mine last weekend.
