Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

I guess on the downside is it's too risky to park it in Seattle Portland or San Francisco... But in all honesty you couldn't pay me to spend any money in those cities.

On the gas mileage I'll chime in, my 2003 bone stock owned since 2013 bought at 50k now at 81k, have gotten 10.5 to 11.5 mpg, all city driving, never expected anything more from it, Tahoe and blazers all my life so par for the course for me

There are a couple things to look out for when looking for an H2 for the trail... * Air suspension - If this goes out when on the trail, it will be a hard-knock life coming back. I love my air ride but... you have to keep it well maintained, or purchase an H2 without it. This cannot really be fixed in the middle of nowhere.

* Stabilitrak - These traction control sensors in my 2008 are finicky and can go out randomly. Sometimes a restart clears them, sometimes not. A code reader can clear it temporarily. If a sensor goes out, then you have no 4x4, only rear wheel drive which will kill a trail run. While this can be easily repaired by a dealer or shop, on the trail it is a problem. My recommendation is have those sensors checked and replaced immediately at first signs of trouble before you hit the trail. These parts are available.

* Service 4 Wheel Drive Light - If there is a leak at the transmission cooler, differential, or transfer case and this light pops on then you have no 4x4, only rear wheel drive which will kill a trail run. Good maintenance and proactive monitoring of any leaks will prevent this and the parts are available.

I must really be missing something because you really have me confused. I'm left trying to figure out how my transmission cooler, transfer case or differential lets the ECM know it has a leak? And then how would the ECM get the transfer case to go into two-wheel drive when it's only capable of all-wheel drive or neutral?

Lol.... I think you could run with no gear oil in your differentials at all, and you would still have four wheel drive until something mechanical like the bearings failed. Same thing if the transfer case ran out of ATF.
