Default New Red Head Steering box and tie rods

After my 3rd ****y steering box I finally stepped up to a new Red Head unit as well as Duramax Tie Rod's. Let me tel you its night and day difference. There is not play in the steering any longer and the truck no longer moves a foot here and there. I'm a happy camper to say the least. I 'm just sad that I dodn't jump on the RH box earlier.

Pics below. Stock tie rod on the right, Dmax on the left.

Stock tie rod on left from Detroit Axle. DMax heavy Duty tie rod on the right. Night and day difference!

RedHead Steering box. Absolutely zero play in this unit!

Certainly a massive difference. I'd just about argue that the Detroit Axle (essentially an old brand name brought back to life) made in China parts are not very good. They get a LOT of poor reviews and are not stock. I doubt they are as good as original GM parts for sure. I have heard that the Dmax ones are pretty much bulletproof and have never heard anything bad about RedHead either. Good stuff!

RedHead is a rebuild, false advertising:
"Made in USA" is a label protected by the Federal Trade Commission, or FTC. ... According to the FTC's website, "all or virtually all" means that "all significant parts and processing that go into the product must be of US origin. That is, the product should contain no — or negligible — foreign content."

The steering box was $400 plus $250 core. The old core was a new, not rebuilt AC Delco unit that started out good but then got too loose. All the other rebuilt ones that I purchased were probably done by some little Indian guy who could care less if they were good or not. I had one shipped with dirty nasty fluid in it still. The Red Hed unit is night and day difference and atleast from the very little that you can see from the outside, brand new.

The tie rods were ****, the articulating end was loose between the ball and socket and made for a surprising driving experience. I probably could have gotten by with Moog or Delco parts but figured what the heck, might as well only do it once (again).

I'm happy so far. Now new exhaust. WIll post of pics later.

go to DMAXstore and the tie rods are right there. They are hilarious big compared to the stock rods. One of the must buys for an H2

Edit:
