Default Looking for help

I have a 2005 H2T I bought it new have not had an issue until today. I pulled it into the garage and as I put it in park he shifter felt light going into park so I tried to go back in drive and the shifter locked I turned the key to off now the engine will not turn over and the shifter is still locked. I had this happen when the battery was dead but have a good battery lights works windows move but something is going on. I disconnected the battery to see if I could get something to reset but nothing.

any ideas?????

check your shift cable at the transmission. maybe it separated from the shift fork since you say the shifter "feels light"

Or the wiring to the shifter lock solenoid (also under the shifter). Those have been known to get worn through and cause the solenoid to not longer retract when you press the brake to shift out of part.

Default Transmission issue

The plastic bushing that connects the shifter cable to the linkage arm at the transmission fatigued and broke
i went the GM dealer they only sell the complete cable $80 and special order
Pep Boys had the bushing for $10 looks like a common issue for GM

thanks for all all the feed back

Excellent - totally forgot about that stupid bushing on these. Had to replace that on my GMC truck several years ago.
