I can only say this because there are thousands of lamps out there. I made security cameras and in ceiling speakers in China and have been to the plants. Mine were knock offs of some very high end brands that had maybe a resistor moved or value changed. There were also knock offs that were cheaply made just to save a few bucks. One couldn't really tell without examining the product and physically holding it. The weight was the first sign. Specs marked on the boxes don't mean anything either. For me, I was installing them as well so the box s had no markings: It was crazy before everyone caught on to the manufacturing craze in China. There was also the back room and then the real back room kind of like different pricing tiers based on volume.

With that said, I was having problems with my right eye due to some chemical damage and had a bit of a blind spot with every LED I tried. Actually, the HID lamps worked better for me but I got tired of ballast problems. I tried a few plug in LEDs and they just weren't that good for me. It was switching over to the lamp fixture that made the difference.

My suggestion is to find out what current lamp someone has just tried is working good for them and where they got it and buy a set ASAP. Everything looks the same, specs are often overstated, and if you wait it will change due to marketing.

That or buy a high end pair. Although I like the lamps I just bought the connectors are garbage and I am resoldering new ones.

Don't know if this helps and sorry for rambling. It was fun back in the day in China.

I'd agree. There is also the proven fact of declining manufacturing quality in much of China's factories. The intital samples and production are excellent but over time corners start getting cut, fixtures, molds, etc start wearing, and the quality of the product will start to decline. Thats why many US companies who have product manufactured in China actually keep a few paid US employees stationed over there. Just to oversee quality control and to be sure that the quality standards are maintained.

There are so many generic 7" LED headlights out now that its next to impossible to check or find reviews of each. The specific ones I listed, myself a several others from a Jeep board have very thoroughly checked them out. Literally inside and out. I've personally opened them up and verified the quality of the work on the circuit board. Top quality work, excellent solder joints, etc. Aside from that - the beam pattern is about as good as any truly top quality OEM HID light made with a true sharp cutoff and stunning brightness and clarity indicating very well done optics and good engineering on the internal design and selection of top quality components. They have also been third party checked to meet USDOT requirements - I have a copy of the certification. The majority of generic ones that say they are USDOT and/or ECE (European regulations) compliant have not really paid to have any certifications done. I've read literally over a hundred thread of others who bought some cheaper generic chinese headlights and the output and beam pattern was horrible. Build quality was lacking, they end up leaking, stop working in just a week or two, etc.

The hard part with askign if anyone has tried some specific ones like posted above, is there are literally just way too many out there that look similar or near identical to really find any meaningful info or reviews on overall quality, beam pattern, and light quality/brightness. I do agree that the H4 connectors are rubbish though. I've never liked that type of connector period and do also plan on installing proper better quality connectors on mine as well.

This gives and idea of the number of documents and research on did on them... the pics with the blue board in them are one of the sets I have that I personally opened up along with beam shots, closeup shots of the diodes, etc. I've also taken in use temperature measurements to verify they are inline with the Tuff Plus claims.

For fun and in case anyone is interested I've uploaded a few pics as well as the very hard to find datasheet and Chinese utility patents on them.

You can find thousands of cheaper round 7" headlights but you will find almost none that have been this thoroughly researched....
