Has anyone with extra lights or electrical add-on's had problems with the stock alternator? I am thinking of getting 2 or 4 lights (110-220 watts total) to add to my rack and wanted to head off overdraw problems before I buy them. Also, does anyone have advice on what lights to get? I am thinking Hella 500 or Black Magic's, or IPF (6.5" round).

 

Mike (Importkiller) is the expert, but from experience, I had grill lights, marker lights and PlusOne Lightbar and had no problems all the lights on at once on my '07 H3 Adventure.

amps = watts / volts

i.e. 220 / 12 = 18 amps

I like to use 12 vdc instead of a more realistic 13.5 - 14.5.... gives you wiggle room.
