Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

After a number of hours looking through ALL the menu's of the Tech2 there is nothing about the steering lock. I also checked with my other professional X-tools D9 Pro, that was a dead end also.

My only guess is GM never updated the software in the Tech2 to include the steering lock device. So bottom line it either works or it doesn't and if it fails you just replace it. The computers could care less.

I haven't disassembled a column like the one used in the H2 so I will be dabbling with the unknown. This is one of those if it doesn't cause a problem leave it alone but I'm a little **** about **** that doesn't work so I might just have to go in and replace it.

Lets clear up the confusion, if you have an 08 or 09 H2 your steering should lock when the key is off and removed from the ignition, if it doesn't its broke. lol None of the other years H2's had steering lock.

Steering wheel lock is designed for 2wd. Park on a hill, turn front wheels to the curb & lock. Btw, my wife's 2020 GMC Terrain AWD steering wheel doesn't lock.

I called my local GMC dealer last week to ask about what would be the approx cost to have it replaced, after providing my VIN they called me back as said it would be a 3 hour labor charger if they didn't run into any problems and approx $100.00 for part number 26056147.

Considering they want 3 hours labor it must be a pain to change.
