Default Ignition key replacement Question

I don't have a H2 repair manual yet, in the meantime i want to replace my ignition key and cylinder.

My question is does replacing the key cylinder require reprogramming of any kind on the 2007?

Or is the programming only required if the ignition switch is replaced? I'm pretty sure it's only if the switch (electrical ) is replaced. (see photo)

But would like to confirm with the pro's on here just for a piece of mind. And the reason I'm replacing it is my door and ignition keys were different, so I have matching keys now and I already did the door cylinder.

No programming needed for the key cylinder..... The keys are not security keys.

Nice, just what I thought, as the 08-09 keys were security keys. Unfortunately the internet is full of lots of disinformation on having to reprogram after they key and cylinder is installed. Thanks MixManSC
