Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Hummers hard sell?

Hello all,

I have a 2004 Hummer 2 with 151,000 miles. Very nice shape with some recent maintenance done (all new stainless steel brake lines, new radiator, passenger side wheel hub and tie rod, and a new steering box). It is in very nice shape. My circumstances changed and I had to purchase a vehicle for my wife so I am considering selling my Hummer. I placed an add here and on my local Craigslist and had zero responses. Was asking $12,000 for it which is a loss for me due to the recent repairs. I just assumed that it would sell because of how cool they are. I bought it basically sight unseen because I always wanted one. I thought for sure there would be other buyers out there. So my question is why are they a hard sell? I mean it seems to be no different to maintain than my Escalade.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Kevin

I would broaden your scope beyond Craig's list. Use auto trader. I listed my H3 on auto trader and had it sold in like 2 weeks with a lot of interest. The person who bought it was in another state than me. When I look at buying a car i never look at Craig's list either (it's shady) for what's that worth to you.

Thank you and I agree with the Craigslist thought. I will consider Auto Trader if it becomes imperative that I sell.

Thanks again,

Kevin

Brake lines for a 2004 Hummer 2

Hello all,
2004 Hummer 2 with 149000 miles. Like many before me my brake lines have ruptured. Does anyone know of a source where I can find a complete brake line kit. Thanks for any help.

I just bought another (my 4th H2, still have H3 I will be selling), I will give you my feedback- I filtered out 2005 & older, even tho they pretty much the same, that was my search criteria. Also, the state you are in may also effect action... If these H2's even get a day in the salt roads, they start to rust... More days exposed to road salt- worse they become. If you are from the "salt belt" that may also effect action...

Most buyers on the H2 know the issues they have and can be particular in choosing the correct 10+ year old (at best) example...

My search was for perfect body & near perfect interior, no rust. I could care less on mechanicals because all that can be corrected.

Autotrader & Truecar is where I searched. I really didnt have a distance qualified- but I would not look at anything north....

Good luck with sale! I am of the thinking before long they will start increasing in price, especially great examples.

I noticed when I picked up mine that unless you have cash most banks will not give a loan for these aging vehicles, I picked up one needing work for 1/2 price they were going on-line for, a little work and its a great vehicle now.

Thanks for all of the comments. I love this vehicle and always wanted one. Ill keep it cause it is a great truck. Currently getting a new steering box to replace the leaky unit I currently have. I'm assuming that there must be folks out there who love them too.
