Bronx, this is a plug and play, just like connecting a turntable/8track/cassette deck etc... to your home receiver.

If this is the first time the unit is connected and receiving satellite signal, the display may read“UPDATING” until the SIR-GM1 channel update is completed. This is where the latest channel line up is updated on the SIRIUS Receiver. NOTE: Don’t push any buttons or perform any operations until updating has been completed.Once updated and the SIRIUS channels are received, you will be tuned to SIRIUS Satellite Radio’s Preview Channel (Channel 184). You should be able to hear the SIRIUS Preview channel’s Audio.

Just looked at the pic you posted.
disconnect power(pull fuses) to the radio and xm module, reboot.
Btw, what constant power source/ground did you use for the xm module?

Radio, amp, xm module should be hot at all times, and chassis grounded.

it mentions many GM tsb's related to XM some for programming in the gm dealer software herehttps://cardiagn.com/gm-service-manual-iso/ you really need that software if you use a tech 2 i have installed it on XP, windows 7 and windows 10. but for windows 10 you have to give the software administrative privileges if not the virtual machine in the program will not run
i did a search for 2003 2010 -2003 N body truck and the query was XM
