Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default H2 won’t start

Hey Hummer family

i’m having a problem with my H2 with only 43,000 miles on it. For some reason you get inside start her up, Drive, park somewhere get back in and It won’t start. It’s got full power but won’t start if you wait 20 to 30 minutes it’ll start back up.

I’ve done everything everybody’s recommended. I’ve disconnected the Onstar , took the Onstar fuse out. I’ve checked the alternator. I purchased a new battery, etc. etc. when I take it to the auto shop, they say oh we cant reproduce the problem of course.

Has this happened to anybody, and if it has, how did you fix it or does anybody have any recommendations how to take care of this problem because it’s left us many times waiting, won’t start and I have a newborn and I need the Hummer to be reliable or my girl wants to get rid of my baby.

As stated above - you need to be a bit more specific. If you drive it to any auto parts store they can scan for codes (it's free) and provide a printout of any that show up which will assist in pointing to the problem.

An H2 with only 43K miles has been sitting idle for quite some time. That in itself creates issues with components that dry out and fail long before they otherwise would from a miles of use perspective. Please Provide some additional info so folks here on the forum can help.

It’s a 04

I’ve taken it to the auto parts store and mechanics and they run the computer and no codes.

it’s so weird it doesn’t happen all the time.

could be battery terminal threads red and are worn so its not making a connection thus no battery being charged

could be relays too. Likely fuel pump relay. If thats bad car wont start. Check them to see if they are brown/ burnt on the side. Go on youtube and search hummer fuse locations they are at end of video.
