Is anyone running the 706 heads on their engines ? Looking for best bang for my buck for offroading and towing, it seems there are a lot LQ4 out there running 5.3 706 heads with truck towing cams showing promising results for low -mid-power range. I can't afford those overpriced superchargers lol.

The research I've done in the past shows that the 243 heads are superior for the 6.0L. Also BTR (Brian Tooley racing) has a Truck Norris cam that is superior for low rpm power. I've learned a lot from Richard Holdener on these upgrades.

Just some notes I've put together:

The 243 heads are equal to LS6 heads, they flow much better than our stock 317 heads (6.0L)
The 799 heads are identical to the 243's.

These heads have a smaller combustion area than the 317's, which increases compression (more low end torque).

These are direct bolt on for our 6.0's.

Gaining low end torque is not easy with just a head swap and cam, but the above post is the best combo I can find.

You'll spend hours with Richards videos as he's an LS guy foremost, including superchargers and turbos.
