Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Default Drove in Snow Squall in VT & hit ice going 70 MPH

Hey Hummer team wanted to share an H2 adventure with you that happened earlier this year. Brother & I drove up to Killington VT for a snowboard trip. First obstacle on the 13 hour drive up was Outside great lakes. Late in the evening we hit this nasty stretch of ice/snow for 100 yards. Came out of no where. Multiple cars wrecked on the side of the road. I hit the ice going 70 MPH. I thought I was going to lose it. Said to my brother I might be losing it then boom! A second later the traction control system kicked was almost immediate. Was really wild feeling the system take control. Stayed on for prob 15 more seconds. Could feel each wheel making adjustments. I had let foot off gas and this point and didnt even think about hitting the brake. 100 yards later roads were clear. Never really want to test the system in that environment again….

On way home we were on route 4. Blue skys clear roads, light flurries and then out of no where brothers phone goes off. Winter advisory alert. Thought WWIII had begun winter warning stay off roads. Never been so excited. A few minutes later heading up the pass the snow came right at us. Looked like light speed in star wars. Total white out. Within 20 minutes 8 - 14 inches in some spots of snow had fallen. Snow the size of golf *****. Didnt even know snow could come down that fast, insane. Anyway, never once thought about pulling over. Wasnt going to let this forum down. As I crossed the ridge line Jeeps, trucks, and every other 4x4 where pulled over. Something out of a movie. Yellow H2 only vehicle to press on. My brother said if you want to pull over now is your chance. I told him “this is what the Hummer was built for!!!” Eventually made it over the mountain Drove in the conditions for prob 45 minutes. Wild. Snowboarding at the resort was epic but that the highlight of the trip.

Thanks Phil! Had another good memory at Snow Shoe,WV massive high climb to get to resort and end. Dude was in little honda or something some
super nerd with his fam insane given the road conditions. He waved me bye and looked as if he wish drove a Hummer haha. I towered over that car by 4 maybe 5feet at least haha. Like nothing else! Im doing a tranny rebuild right now…Will be posting some tips on that soon.

Haha I keep telling people stability control on the h2 is miles above anything else on the road and no one believes it till they see it.

A Big 10-4 on that. It happened to me with the ICE thing! Doing 50 MPH on a two lane back road in Joisey, hit a patch of Black ICE at Night.. The rig went nuts keeping me straight..!!! But I could feel the system taking over the wheels and helping me stay straight,

Have some fun... next winter when there's snow or ICE on the ground and get your HUMMER up to some speed and SLAM on The Brakes and listen to the Growl of the ABS Motor under the hood and feel how easy t is to stop straight.....!! COOL....
