Ha! Yes, we've had words and I still can't believe such a tiny little thing could have damaged the door on such a big rig, but she's a keeper!

 

Got the hinges loose and was able to shift the door enough to stop the clicking - it sure is a narrow gap but now works like a charm. Note to self: next time have an assistant (grown son, not wife) who can hold the door up during tightening procedure.
