Default Can I impact driver the fill plug off on the rear diff?

I guess the last oil change place sadly over torqued my rear fill plug. I tried getting a breaker bar in there but its tight and couldnt get good torque on it,. that metal pipe infront of the diff cover also gets in the way

i have a 3 speed electric impact driver that pushes 200 ft lbs of torque with 1/4 hex drive. i was thinking of getting a 1/4 hex drive to 3/8 socket adaptor

see the photo here: https://imgur.com/a/bAOpq4W

and then using my impact on speed 3 to get it off. i would of course tighten it by hand after

good idea? i cant see it needing more tight since it should only be 25 ft lbs. it must have a washer infront of it or something

How did you check fluid last week? Don't use an impact.

Oh, take it back to the shop and let them know the plug is not properly torqued. Using an impact could cause the plug to round out. Not good if that happens.

You can use an impact, if it rounds no big deal. weld a bolt to it and turn it out.

Yes big deal, you need a welder, and also change the pinion seal.

1/4" impact won't touch it. Find the right combo of quality tools and it will come off.

Remove the 14 bolts on the cover, then the entire cover and replace it with a new one and don't over torque the fill plug after you fill it.
