Definite solution. I had the same situation on my chevy blazer, backed out of the driveway, then put into drive, no go. In the middle of the street I crawled under and reconnected/secured with a tie strap, so I could drive back into the driveway. Then I removed the pin, and inserted a bolt,nut to tighten to the lever, sleeve on the bolt, then washer on both sides of the cable, double nut to make sure secure, and movement within the shifter cable. Never a problem to the day I sold it.
