Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
So assume 2 cans (2lbs) = $11 + shipping @ say $50 this works out to be 61 x 1.07 x 1.2 = around $78.
Here 2lbs costs around £47 approx. $58
Either way its not as good as $11
£47 for 2cans is F'n crazy! Cans are only 12oz. eBay UK R134A tank is only £259.99 +£9.99 Delivery.
Advertised at 13kg= 28.6601lbs(Tanks on this side of the pond are 30lbs) =38.21346666666667 cans =£7.065 per 12oz can.
those R134A cans are only 12oz so not quite a pound 16oz would make the pound.
did the sensor fail the usual way? water intrusion causing it to swell and crack? the suburban's / tahoe's , truck's and Cadillac's have similar sensors i wonder if those can be interchanged / used.
i do see rock auto sells A/C kits that consist of compressor, condenser, receiver drier and seals is that what you used for replacement?
Sorry bronxteck, yes 16oz, my mistake rarely use imperial units here.
Yes as you say, the alloy metal insert in the sensor has a large cavity which filled-up with corrosion, swelled and burst open, you can clearly see the crack and faint hint of blue corrosion. In reality the sensor is up-side down, if it was bolted the other way up any condensation would pour out rather than trapping the water.
The inside had water in it and even though the PCB is coated in protective gel, it failed to stop the electronics from shorting-out. You can just see the date code was Jan 05 17 years old!
These are the sensors that I've managed to cross-ref taken from a variety of on-line sources and of course R/A. Mine was 10370848 which FedEx nearly lost.
I noticed that some YouTubers have used sensors outside of this table which seem to work, however I don't know how sophisticated the sensors are, they seem to be pretty complex devices.
It seems the SDM uses a 2-wire unidirectional bus to talk to the sensors, LeftRight
B0100 and B0103 set for no response in 5 seconds
B0101 and B0104 are set if a sensor responds with Not OK
B0102 and B0105 are set for an invalid ID response . Exactly how they operate i.e. what sensitivity, timing, impact, Yaw and Tilt etc has been programmed into them could well be vehicle specific.
Re the A/C kits, yes I did buy one, but unfortunately not from Rock. I did get a refund for the faulty condenser, but that didn't compensate for the time, effort in re-fitting, r-134a, cleaning etc etc
For some reason cans here tend to be 6oz probably for the masses.
and indeed I would love to buy a canister, but not being in the motor trade it's hard to justify the outlay, especially to the wife. Besides I have a list of other items I needs, like new tires, fuel door, underbody treatment etc, etc
Besides I can get it garage refill cheaper than I can buy the refrigerant, but my trust in them is low and I need to see them do the job, they are not familiar with Hummers for sure.
does your compressor ever cycle?
i ask because i never witness my compressor cycling. it does put out 60 degree air when the climate control is at 60 without recirc enabled. but it was 68*F yesterday when i tested.
also i have a 2003 which seems to use 1.8 pounds for some reason from what i read? is that correct?
i dont know if walmart delivers to your side of the pond but seems the place to still get it at a reasonable price before the tree huggers make it unobtainable. https://www.walmart.com/ip/SuperTech...2-oz/100977940
My oem sticker(on the air filter housing shown below) shows 1.28lbs on my 3, all others 1.6lbs. My A/C components are still ALL original equipment, and still blows cold. Check pressures, if low, check for leaks.
WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD THE AC BLOW?
As a rule of thumb, when the ambient air temperatures 70° degrees Fahrenheit (21° Celsius) and humidity 20%, the AC outlet air temperature should be in the 35°-40° degrees Fahrenheit range. On the other extreme of 80° degrees Fahrenheit ambient air temperature and 90% humidity condition, the AC outlet air temperature might be in the 45° to 50° degrees Fahrenheit range.
yeah on any other vehicle thats the norm but most threads seem to say there temp comes out at 60 at center vents without recirc enabled. thats why i ask. also the not cycling is not common definitely unlike every other vehicle.
