check to see if maybe a hose or harness loom is touching your exhaust manifolds or exhaust pipes. unless oil is dripping onto exhaust and that's what you smell.

May need to search a bit more, Does it seem to be on the inside only, or coming out the air vents? or is it on the outside coming in from engine area or underneath or wheel areas? maybe once it starts smelling stop vehicle and look (smell) around. Is the AC On/Off?

Ac is off since it doesn’t work lol. Now that you mentioned oil I had it under coated last September so I am wondering if it’s the under costing burning off the exhaust. I rarely drive the truck. Just recently I’ve been taking it on the hwy at higher speeds. I’m going to also have a look and see if anything is touching the exhaust.

if it is rubber undercoating maybe it is on the exhaust pipes or cats.

It’s the black dealer coating that doesn’t come off

Indeed it does, with-> kerosene, also removes road tar from the body panels! Or you can wait for it to burn off?
Btw, I always wait after I fire up the grill to burn off the residue from the previous grilled animal meat.

Mineral spirits is what I use, and I buy it in gallons from Home Depot.
Same as the "bug and tar" remover you buy in expensive little bottles in the automotive store.

Excellent solvent that will not eat your car's clear coat.
I even mix it right into my car wax, so that it cleans the surface while I wax. (I of course wipe down the entire car body with it before waxing, and also use a clay bar)
And great use for washing out greasy stuff, brushes, paint, removing stickers, etc.

Oh, and do not drink it like Hummerz gif suggests, Leave that to him, LOL!
