Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
look in the video at 2:40 minutes in there is a metal cap that looks like a mushroom that you have to transfer to the new body mounts. it gets inserted between the body and the top bushing. they rot out. in the video his are not in the best shape.
this one has a rubber bushing installed.
Mushroom caps can be reused if not rotted out. Important! there are also shims sold by GM. You need the shims IF your bushing-to-frame space varies between adjacent body mounts. You also need to replace the large fender washers, bolts, and bolt washers if replacement bolts do not have the OEM style mushroom heads. And they have to be Grade 8, NOT cheapo grade 5.
If you snap a bolt, you are in a world of pain. They get super thin from wear. So lube them up prior to your ratchet lovemaking.
I've got the maintenance records from the previous owner, nothing in there about motor mounts. I assume they're stock.... But have no clue. The whole underside is fairly clean, no rust.
