got a 2003 hummer h2, and ill probably be getting some budget shocks as ill only be running this truck for another year or two. I will also change my steering stabilizer and was thinking of maybe using a good steering stabilizer like a bilstein or something? or should you always wear the same steering stabilizer as the brand of shocks?

When I did all four shocks with Bilstein 5100s I did the 5100 steering stab also. It is very stiff and does not return to center on its own but I also do not put many miles on the old lady anymore. I am sure if it were a DD it would loosen up over time.

 

from what I have seen I think the only one that works as it's supposed to is the OEM one. the rest tend to pull or push.

 

I've seen posts indicating the same.... other put an aftermarket one on and have ended up taking the aftermarket one back off and getting and OEM one and putting that on instead.

 

I had similar concerns when I installed mine but it neither pushes or pulls. It is just stiff and doesn't return to center without a little help. It definitely won't be coming off since I trashed the stockers lol.
