Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

I was able to replace the bcm without taking apart the dash. If you rotate it 90 degrees and pull straight out, it’ll go with some force. Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to program the bcm. So I put the old one back in. Rear gate alarm went away. I couldn’t find any solder joints that looked suspect. When the gate is open, the circuit is grounded. Not sure how the circuit can ground since I cut the wire next to plug.

Hope your fault doesn't come back.

BTW I would love to get my hands on a scrap BCM to analyse ..... plus an instrument cluser ... plus a DDM ...

Could someone give me a quick rundown on how to program a bcm from an suv to work in the Hummer? Do I need a laptop? The fault came back for rear gate. Do I need to do something with stock bcm before I remove it from Hummer? Thanks

yes you need tis2000 and a tech 2 or a good scanner tool. then you need to read the vehicle with the tech2. swap out the module then connect the tech 2 to the computer. look for the update for the module download it to the tech 2 then you have to connect it back to the vehicle tell it it is a replacement. it might ask to verify your vin or to enter your vin number then you program the module. it should walk you through the steps.

I would suggest youtube as much as you can stand then come back and ask questions,

there is a lot of possibilities when it comes to programming modules,

Ok thanks. I need to find an older computer first. Do I use the bcm menu then, special functions - request bcm info for sps? Also, why is there no hummer listed for 2003? Can I use the 2004 option instead? Thanks

Did your tech 2 specifically say for cars and trucks, I have noticed that some sold do not support trucks but that's usually indicated in the add that they are for cars only
an older computer with XP SP3 would be perfect if you can find one as the tech 2 and most of the software was developed for XP
I'll run through the menu on mine and see if I have the Hummer listed,
