bcm removal help?
#41
If you don’t mind me asking. How did you turn it 90 degrees?
I was able to replace the bcm without taking apart the dash. If you rotate it 90 degrees and pull straight out, it’ll go with some force. Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to program the bcm. So I put the old one back in. Rear gate alarm went away. I couldn’t find any solder joints that looked suspect. When the gate is open, the circuit is grounded. Not sure how the circuit can ground since I cut the wire next to plug.

It takes some force to get it to rotate. I reached behind dash and pushed bcm forward, then worked at it from the front also. You have to wiggle it and find the sweet spot. It is very frustrating. I had mine in and out at least 20 times and it was a bear every time. After you rotate it you'll have to bend the plastic piece circled in blue out of the way. Then the connector on the bottom circled in red will get stuck. I was able to do this by hand without pry bars. Be careful not to strain the bcm too much, as you could possibly crack the circuit board inside.

Bcm
I've done a search and can't find much info. I am now certain my bcm is the reason for my rear access open message. Every time the message appears, I wiggle the connector on the bottom of bcm and the message always goes away. I got one out of an escalade from the junk yard, for parts or to reprogram. Has anyone removed/ replaced theirs. The one page I read mention cutting the dash frame in certain areas to aid in replacement. I'm assuming the whole dash has to come forward? thanks in advance.
