Default ABS and TC/ light came on after wheel spin on snow

Hey guy 2003 hummer h2 and we had a large snow storm a couple days ago and I hit a patch of snow, and lately when I hit a patch of snow I always tend to hit the pedal more to get a little wheel spin and have some fun but I guess maybe I spun a little too much? Because once I passed the snow patch I got the abs light and tc / light illuminated. It never shut off but I just got to work so I will see when I get back to the truck in the evening if it’s gone by itself.
what do you guys think it is? Do you think maybe I just overloaded the module or something and a negative battery pull will fix?

thanks

Also let’s say if it doesn’t go away with the restart/battery pull. Is it really bad to drive in winter without ABS and TC? I would be getting it fixed within a week tho

thx

That is usually caused by one of the wheel speed ABS sensors getting damaged.... ABS and traction control are generally good things to have working.

Edit to add - might actually be fine but I think it takes like 100 ignition cycles for the codes to self clear. Otherwise you need a code reader that can clear codes (might have to be a Tech2 for that code but I'm not sure on that).

Go to your local auto parts store and get a free scan, post the code.

You can scan for codes to find the source and correct, or you can make believe that you have a self healing robot.
