I can't speak to the 572cu big block, but I would think a 408 would be a piece of cake. Just add a 4' stroker crank to the existing 6.0L iron block (LQ9) with a decent set of cylinder heads and a modest bump stick. That plus a set of headers and a cat-back is a fairly easy +100hp gain..

The H2 was designed more for off road tham 180 mph freeway speeds. The Cayenne is not an off road vehicle. I've seen a little bit of everything at the drag strip but I would say you are fighting an uphill battle here.

Hi folks,

I know I am digging out a 10 years old thread but I have some questions about a engine swap in a 2009 H2:

Will the 572 fit in the engine compartment?
Why is the advice above to get a stick manual transmission instead of the automatic?
If one wants to stay at the automatic is it wise to go to stronger automatic gear box since hp/torque is raised or can the OEM tranny handle the 572?
Is it mandatory to go to 2WD or can the 4WD be kept with a 572 and a automatic tranny (either OEM if strong enough or a stronger if needed)?

Thanks

Lars

The transmission in stock form, will not last with a 572. There are people who can rebuild it to be much stronger.

Not many parts would especially if going FI after that. Welcome to forged internals and even cryo treating for other parts like transfer case gears, diffs, etc. Too much of a hassle in my book to be honest. Build the stock engine a bit and throw a procharger on it if you are that hard up to blow thousands of dollars.
