572 cui engine for the H2

Hi!

Does anybody know whether somebody ever installed a big block V8 into the H2?
I will buy a new car (I decided for the 2007 model) and think about keeping my 2004 H2 and to convert it to rear-wheel drive and a really powerful engine - possibly the Chevy Performance 572 cui engine.
Any ideas?

Cheers!

Otto:)

It could also make sense to change to a six-speed manual gearbox - maybe the ZF gearbox from the Corvette C4!

Never heard of it but it might be possible...can you imagine an 800hp rwd H2, gas might suck though

I know Arnold Scwartzeneger (sp) had Dick Gulstrand engineering in LA modify his hummers with different powerplants.

I am thinking about that because a friend of mine owns a Cayenne Turbo and I would love to have a H2 faster than his car.
I got the idea since I saw a H2 powered by a supercharged 7.0 liter engine in the German Hummer H2 book I got. I don't trust aftermarket supercharging very much. I often drive to Germany and there you can go flat out on the Autobahn. For me a naturally aspirated engine soundsto be the better solution and thanks to the low exchange rate it's quite cheapfor me buy the 572 cui V8in the USA.
I want to connect it to the six-speed manual gearbox from the Corvette C4 what should make it a real racer.
What do you think?

Cheers

Forced induction just needs proper tuning to run right...the bugatti veyron has 4 turbochargers

Just put a LS7 in there.... add a maggie, QM600 cam, some headers, different gearing and you will have a sick ride....

The ZO6 guys are easily getting 550-600rwhp with various pieces of that combo...

That sounds reasonable but isn't enough to beat a Cayenne Turbo with a H2.
Displacement can be only replaced by more displacement and in addition the 572 cui isn't much more expensive than the LS7 engine.
I also own a Z06 which is nice but the car is far away from having its claimed power and far from reaching its claimed top speed.
Why take the smaller engine and tune it up to get less power?

I was just being a little more practical.... I would have a hard time finding the balls to drive a H2 at Cayenne top speeds... let alone trying to beat it... on a windy day the H2 is a handful at even 90-100.

A friend of mine drove the Geigercars H2 7.0 Kompressor that is featured in the German H2 book at full speed (250 km/h) on the Autobahn. He said that wasn't a problem at all. You also need some balls the drive a Z06 at full speed (about 300 km/h) on a public road.
TheH2 SUVshould be heavy enough to stand that. I am more scared of the tires. I got 26-inch Kumhos on my car and nobody can tell me how fast I can really got with them.

Cheers
