Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

I am with "B" here,
You put together a god how to and I would be buying the first copy immediately

30k is outrageous, but of course 5k of it is probably the engine trans, and 15k of it is luxury tax for owning a Hummer (which is bull ****).
Plus those companies need to realize these truck isnt bought by the well-to-do person anymore... since the prices have dropped they are more affordable. And a 30k conversion for a truck that costs 15k in whole is stupid.
Iluminati, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put something together for us.
we beg ya

My hats off to you sir for doing this on your own!

I have always dream about having a Duramax in my 2 but there is no way in the world I would pay for a conversion.

You completed a body on conversion with upgrades for pennies on the dollar compared to what the "other guys" want to do the conversion.

Hell, you could throw together a formal How-To manual on your conversion and sell it. I know for a fact there'd be quite a few customers!

I'm definitely subbed to this thread!

The engine & trans is not $5k or anywhere near that low of a number. Show me a 50k=ish mileage Allison & LMM for that price.

Everyone's just making up prices for things they want, lol. $5k won't even get you a used complete engine...

Then you have the electrical components...

$5k.... I demand a link for that! As much as you want a complete guide, I want cheap parts!

Agreed on that!!

Fortunately there is a company that reasonably does a Duramax conversion in H2's and has the customers needs in mind.

Well done and kudo to doing it yourself. But now consider time spent as dollar value and see it from the other side. Even if you valued your time at 50 per hour that's 20,000.00 in labor. So consider the shops time at 100 an hour, cut time in half due to experience and equipment(and im being generous at cutting in half) still would equal 20g in labor. If you do it yourself that's awesome, now its not just a cool truck but the pride value in a self built rig is sweet. You cant expect a shop to pay its employees and make money though by only charging say 15g for the job. Logistically that would make no sense to any company. Just because someone doesn't have the income needed to do the swap doesn't mean a company should work for free. After overhead for the shop owner and space taken in shop so it pushes off other jobs he maybe makes 3000 bucks in 200 hours of shop time. that's 5 weeks of time on a 40 hour work week. I bet most everyone on here makes more than 3g in 5 weeks.

A small customer focused company you never heard of.

Mine

I've been communicating with a member on here about what he wants for his conversion.

Even if he doesn't choose to use us, he is now better educated on what's available and what will suit HIS needs best.

Maybe he will chime in...
